But needs are real, with or without a label, and you shouldn't have to join another long queue to have them understood.
My Learning Profile Assessment is a strengths- and needs-led approach to learning and academic performance. It looks at how you, or your child, actually learn and manage day to day.
It pinpoints the needs, explains them clearly, and gives you a practical plan to support them straight away.

Who you'll be working with
I'm Jayson, a teacher with 22 years' experience in the UK and Australia and a secondary school SENDCO.
Identifying needs and planning support is my day job.
I hold the national SENCO award (NASENCO) and a postgraduate certificate in dyslexia,
and I'm autistic and have ADHD, so I understand neurodivergence from the inside.

One-to-one tuition
£50 per session
Specialist teaching in reading, writing, maths or study skills, planned around how you learn.
Each session includes:
45–50 minutes of live teaching
planning and a short written summary of progress
Dyslexia or dyscalculia screening

A focused check to see whether dyslexia or dyscalculia is likely, and what would help right now.
Includes the screening, scoring and a printable summary of strategies for home or school.
A screening is not a diagnosis.
Dyslexia diagnostic assessment

An in-depth assessment with a full written report and recommendations tailored to you.
Gives detailed evidence for planning support at home, at school or at work.*

Common questions
Do I need a diagnosis to get support?
No. Support should follow need, not a label. A Learning Profile Assessment identifies what's getting in the way and what will help, whether or not you have, or are waiting for, a diagnosis.
How long will I have to wait?
Not long. Because everything happens online and there's no long waiting list, waiting times are short. Get in touch and we can usually arrange your first session or assessment quickly.
Which assessment is right for me?
A screening is a short check that shows whether dyslexia or dyscalculia is likely. A Learning Profile Assessment looks at the whole picture of how you learn and gives you a practical support plan, with or without a diagnosis. A diagnostic assessment is for when you specifically need to confirm dyslexia, and comes with a full report. Not sure? Get in touch and we'll work it out together.
How do online assessments and sessions work?
Everything takes place over a video call, from home or wherever you feel comfortable. There's no travel and no unfamiliar room, which many learners, especially anxious or autistic learners, find much easier. You'll need a computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection and a quiet space.
What if I can't afford it?
Please still get in touch. Cost should never be the reason someone goes without support. Tell me about your situation and we'll find an arrangement that works.
Do you work with adults?
Yes. Learning has no age limit. I work with children, teenagers and adults, including students and people in work.
Can I work with you if I don't live in Manchester?
Yes. My roots are in Manchester, but all sessions and assessments are online, so you can work with me from anywhere in the UK or the world. Sessions are in English, so you'll need to be comfortable learning in English.
Will your report be accepted for university funding?
Not always. Because I don't currently hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), my diagnostic reports may not be accepted for the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). Please ask before booking if you need one for this.
