Fix the structure.
Not the person.
Neurodivergent people are often expected to adapt to systems that were never designed for them.
Not-Broken Advisory is the research and consultancy arm of Crux Education.
We work with schools and trusts, employers and faith organisations to find out what's getting in the way, and how to change it.
Expertise beyond the classroom
Our work draws on 22 years in education, postgraduate study in cognitive psychology and SEN,
and lived experience of neurodivergence.
That combination lets us look past compliance checklists to how neurodivergent people actually experience your organisation:
its spaces, systems, communication and culture.
What we offer
Research projects
Longer-term studies
Commissioned research into neurodivergence in a particular setting, such as a workplace, a multi-academy trust or a faith community.
Each project has its own ethics panel, and participants are recruited carefully and confidentially.
We are working towards university partnerships so that findings can be peer reviewed.
Think tank briefings
Fast, evidence-based advice
When you need a clear answer on an emerging neurodiversity issue, we review the existing evidence
and give you a written opinion to support your decision.
Quicker than a full research project, with the same ethical oversight.
Consultancy and audits
Practical reviews
A neurodivergent audit looks at how your organisation works in practice:
physical and digital accessibility, processes, and internal communication.
We talk to the people affected, whether staff, students, customers or members,
so that recommendations reflect real experience.
How a project works
Every project follows the same clear, ethical process.

Before we speak to any participants, an ethics panel suited to your sector reviews the approach to protect everyone involved.
-
03
Research and review
We carry out the research, briefing or audit, combining academic rigour with lived-experience understanding.
-
04
Report and recommendations
You receive clear findings, from a formal advisory opinion to a prioritised accessibility plan, with practical next steps.
